Hook: Size 10-12 Kamasan B170
Thread: Black colour 6/0 or 8/0
Breathers: Natural CDC, Alternatively White Antron
Rib: Pearl tinsel
Body: Brown seals fur

  1. Take a bunch of 3-4 natural CDC feathers or any alternative and secure at the head.
  2. Take the thread down the hook to the point opposite the barb and secure in another 3-4 CDC fibres or alternative.
  3. Attach the rib material.
  4. Form a dubbing rope using the seals fur and then form the body. Let the bobbin hang at the head of the fly.
  5. Run the rib up the body forming 3-4 turns only. Then secure and trim the rib.
  6. Take the thread in front of the CDC fibres at the head.
  7. Optional Step: Take some thread off the bobbin and apply a little varnish to the thread. (This is easier then trying to apply the varnish afterwards)
  8. Form a neat head at the eye of the hook using a whip finish.
  9. Trim the CDC fibres so form neat breathers.
