Body: Brown seals fur
Rib: Fine Pearl Tinsel
Thorax Cover: 3-4 CDC feathers
Thorax: Brown seals fur.

  1. Start at the head and run the thread down to just around the bend in touching turns. Catching in the rib as you go.
  2. Form a dubbing rope using the seals fur and then form the body. Stop 2/3 of the way up the hook.
  3. Run the rib up the body forming 3-4 turns only. Then secure and trim the rib.
  4. Take a bunch of 3-4 natural CDC feathers or any alternative and secure at the point where the body stopped. The feathers should be pointing back over the body with the stems towards the eye of the hook. Once secured trim the CDC stems.
  5. Add more seals fur dubbing to the thread and form the thorax, leaving the thread approximately 2mm from the eye of the hook.
  6. Pull the CDC over the thorax to form a thorax cover.
  7. Secure the CDC at the eye of the hook allowing the remaining CDC to form the shuttlecock.
  8. Optional Step: Take some thread off the bobbin and apply a little varnish to the thread. (This is easier then trying to apply the varnish afterwards)
